The Saguaro
The Saguaro
Want a classic Arizona luxury hotel - which is to say ultra contemporary, southwest decor, and a little bit on the older side? Kind of like the cougars you’re hoping to take down? You’ve found it.
The Saguaro is where many a movie star have come to stay. This Joie de Vivre spot is trying so hard to be swanky that it changes names more than Tiger Woods switches girls (eg, it used to be the James, Mondrian, and Theodore), but that won’t stop a nearly-guaranteed number of groups of cuties staying there (likely for a bachelorette party).
It’s not quite the party vibe, but has good service, a great location, is surprisingly reasonable, and there’s actually a fairly swingin’ bar around dinner time.
The aforementioned bar is a perfect spot to have a toast (or perhaps roast) of the bachelor prior to going out. Though the single guys in the group may loiter a bit for the cougars hanging around.
Price: $$
Bar on premises: As mentioned, yes. Though more a jump off then a destination.
Lively daytime pool scene?: It’s a decent scene but you may have to create your own party.
Close to: The Mission (upscale SW food), RnR (fun party brunch), Grazie (authentic pizza), Rusty Spur (dive bar), Dos Gringos (sports bar), Firehouse (sports bar), Hotel Valley Ho (cool hotel with terrific pool scene), Courtyard Marriott (in case you go to the wrong hotel).
