Firesky Resort & Spa (Formerly Caleo Resort & Spa)
Clearly the coolest name for a hotel, Firesky is a good middle-ground for those in your party of “bachelors” who want to balance fun, resort, and good location. It’s right on a main strip, even near a classic AZ mall, which isn’t actually that bad as you’ve got a bevy of food and drink options anywhere you turn, along with the requisite shoppers (read: females).
Regardless, it’s a Kimpton hotel, so you know it’s gonna be solid. So, they have a great staff, larger than usual rooms (most have a terrace), and cool firepits with roasted marshmallows (among other delights you should gather) to toast your bachelor.
Get at least one room overlooking the lagoon. It’ll be a good spot to wait for people to get ready and well, check out the action.
Price: $$
Bar on premises: Taggia Lounge is a solid spot for a casual drink or three.
Lively daytime pool scene?: Middle tier, leaning solid.
Close to: Sushi Roku, Cowboy Ciao (upscale American/Western restaurant), Barrio Queen (outstanding Mexican though not the original), Don & Charlie's (great steakhouse), Saddle Ranch Chop House (fun BBQ), W Scottsdale (cool hotel with great outdoor pool/bar).
