Doraku has all the lacquered wood, bamboo and lanterns you’ve come to expect from a sushi place, but with a slightly hipper vibe (there’s a DJ booth for instance). And while it’s big enough to pack in plenty of girls-nights-out doing sake bombs, no one’s going to get lost in here. The happy hour is well known on Lincoln Road (so expect some after work crowds letting loose from 5-7pm), and the sushi gets high marks among raw fish aficionados. We usually start with about 10 or 15 Sapporo drafts ($3 before 7) and then ease into the dinner menu with some tako poke and spicy garlic prawns. Impress the girls next you by asking the sushi chef to “surprise” you.
Get there for the 5-7 happy hour: The drink specials range from $3-$4 which include a nice variety of specialty cocktails, well-drinks, sangria, and house wines. Did we mention $3 Sapporo drafts?
The Good:
Great location, and their famous happy hour ensures there’s plenty of talkative girls around. The Bad:
Limited menu; this is, after all, a sushi spot. So if the Bachelor isn’t a fish person, you may want to head elsewhere. Plus there’s the occasional dose of South Beach douchebaggery in here owing to its location. Vote Up/Down:
